Dr. Antonio Mas ArrondoFr. Antonio Mas Arrondo was born in Zaragoza in 1948; he studied theology at l’Université de Lyon and at the Pontificia Università Gregoriana in Rome. Afterwards, he obtained his PhD in Burgos with the dissertation “Las Séptimas Moradas de Teresa de Jesús: El matrimonio Espiritual”. He has been a diocesan priest since 1974 and combines his teaching activity with his pastoral duties in a working-class neighborhood in Zaragoza, where he supports people in social alienation and in poverty, helped by the richness of St. Teresa’s spirituality. He teaches at several universities like the Universidad de la Mística (Centro Teresiano Sanjuanista, CITeS) and the Universidad de Salamanca. The Teresian idea is the main topic of most of his books and specialized articles. He has studied the St. Teresa of Avila’s doctrine for years, especially the book of Las Moradas, of which he does a rereading in the book “Acercar el Cielo. Itinerario espiritual con Teresa de Jesús” using a modern XXI century language.
