Dr. Marianne Schlosser

Dr. Marianne Schlosser studied Latin Philology and Catholic Theology at the Universität München. In 1985 she graduated in Catholic Theology and received her PhD in 1989 with the dissertation: “Cognitio et Amor. Zum Kognitiven und voluntativen Grund der Gotteserfahrung nach Bonaventura”, which was awarded the Best Dissertation Prize by the University Society. She graduated in dogmatic History and Dogmatic in 1998 with the dissertation “Lucerna in caliginoso loco. Aspekte des Prophetiebegriffes in der scholastischen Theologie”.

From 1985 to 2004 she collaborated with the Martin-Grabmann-Forschungsinstitut of Munich as a research assistant and, recently, as an academic advisor and visiting professor. Since October 2004 she has been a professor and Director of the Theology and Spirituality Department at the Faculty of Catholic Theology at the Universität Wien.

In September 2014 she was designated a member of the International Theological Commission by the Pope Francis for the five-yearly term 2014-2019.
